Letter Dedicated to Tim Nugent, A Former Director & an Awesome Friend

Dear Tim,
Your love, dedication and enthusiasm to make sure that everyone’s voice is heard and that authentic communication  is maintained, has inspired  me to become a better leader, you have helped me to understand the importance of creating an environment where everyone feels safe to express their thoughts and share their ideas.
Thank you for embracing my "uniqueness", for being there, believing in me, celebrating my achievements; for your support, for your kindness.
Because of you, I have learned to recognize the potential for collaboration when harnessing diversity and in doing so, provide a platform for both collaboration and change. Your thoughtful presence, you showing up to check on us, for validating my fears, frustrations, my not so good moments.
Your thoughtful interaction and willingness to share your insight and  advice have been invaluable throughout my training as a Peer Bridger.
The lessons and insights that I have gained from working with you, will continue to guide me as I build bridges between communities and civilizations.
On a personal level, I am deeply grateful for your kindness and willingness to invest your time and energy in helping me develop the skills necessary to become a successful Peer Specialist.
I will be forever indebted to you for providing me with the guidance, advice, and encouragement needed to reach my fullest potential. Once again, I thank you for inspiring me to strive to become a better Peer specialist, better human being and for inspiring me to think of others.
Your encouragement and mentorship have been instrumental in my growth and in this journey to making a lasting impact in the world.
Thank you,
Lola Alvarez
